We had our roof replaced by this company. During the renovation we had several leaks, resulting in water damage. When attaching the insulation, roof beams were invariably missed. We still have some screws in the attic sticking in along the roof beams. Part of the renovation included re-inserting the chimney. Ultimately, this was carried out so poorly that it led to years of leakage. Because Barkhuis did not come up with a solution, we ultimately had the chimney removed at our own expense. During the renovation, we were also asked to bring forward the agreed partial payments/advance payments. Two stars because ultimately there is a solid roof on our house.

On the day I reported a rainwater drain leak, 2 employees from the Barkhuis company immediately arrived. Because it was thought that there was a leak in the drain on our flat roof, one of them applied a 10 cm sealant edge. Actual working time 1.30 hours by 1 person. A few days later I received an invoice for 3 hours of work, which I thought was quite a lot for this minimal work (for 1 person). After having repeatedly insisted via email, Mr. Barkhuis was finally prepared to discuss the invoice with me after 5 weeks. It appears that 2 people always come to a report for safety reasons. What is special is that the employees on the flat roof do not have insurance, even though there is fall protection. So be careful: you always pay double labor costs at the Barkhuis company, even if it is a job for 1 person. Unfortunately, the leak did not appear to have been resolved. In the conversation with Mr. Barkhuis did not offer me any help to solve the leak. For next time: no Barkhuis again!

After the roof inspection we were told that repairs had to be done which would take 2 men about a day. The quote is based on that. On the agreed day 1 man comes, who seems to repair the roof neatly. He was with us for 7 hours, of course including a break. However, the full amount is charged. This was discussed with the person who drew up the quote for us, but Barkhuis insists on the full amount. Strange way of working and we feel cheated. So you pay for 2 men because you assume that what was said in advance is correct, while not 16 hours, but 7 hours were spent. Expensive hours. No more Barkhuis for us unfortunately
