I had a REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE with this company — I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The job was simple: install a new pipe connection for my washing machine and change a pipe in my kettle. They initially said they would charge just to inspect the issue, which already felt a bit unusual, but I accepted. After that, they proceeded with the job without discussing any pricing or providing an estimate. Later, I received a bill that felt shockingly high — over 80 euros per hour, which I couldn’t find listed anywhere on their website or documentation. The time billed also raised red flags. For example, they charged 45 minutes even though the plumber was reportedly there for 32 minutes. Instead of rounding down, they rounded up. In my estimation, he was present for maybe 10 minutes. They also claimed the total job took 3.5 hours, which I personally find hard to believe, considering both jobs were straightforward and easily accessible. For reference, the washing machine pipe was attached to another one just one meter away. The kettle pipe was also fully visible — just a simple replacement. When I asked (very calmly and respectfully) for clarification on the invoice, the owner raised his voice and told me, “I will explain, but I’ll charge you extra for the explanation.” I found that response completely unprofessional. He also stated that part of the cost included time spent going to the shop to pick up materials. In my opinion, that is a company responsibility, not something customers should be billed for. Lastly, I received no warranty or confirmation that the work was done properly. This was by far the most unpleasant service experience I've had in years. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

De loodgieter kwam binnen, stelde een halve conclusie, ik kreeg een rekening zonder rapport factuur via de VVE, geen voorstel voor oplossing en op mail geen reactie. Ik heb betere ervaringen met andere loodgieters in Leiden. Tot de dag van vandaag de rekening betaald, zelf een oplossing geregeld en nog geen factuur/ rapport

I contacted Barendse with a plumbing emergency (a burst pipe clearly visible in the wall). Despite their website stating 24/7 availability and service for both small and urgent jobs, I was told they had no time and could not help. I was disappointed given the nature of the issue and their advertised services.

Met dank aan Barendse Loodgieters hebben we een prachtig nieuw dak op onze aanbouw in Leiderdorp. We hadden geen idee hoe snel dat ging en hoe het eruit ging zien. Na vakkundig advies en een passend voorstel lag het dak er al binnen 2 dagen op volgens de planning. Ook was de nota precies als de offerte. Ik zou zo weer Barendse Loodgieters inschakelen. Top mannen!

We discovered a leaky tap beneath our sink. This was more stressful that it sounds because the water was damaging the kitchen wall. At first we found a different plumber on werkspot, but we had a bad experience. After that we called Barendse and Hank came out to help us. It was such a huge relief! Hank was very friendly and professional and now everything is fixed. In future we will stick to working with Barendse and we can definitely recommend them.
