Verheijen Schilder & Onderhoud

The shop and shop staff are fantastic! Always thinking along and very good advice. We really like coming here. But.... The painting by Verheijen, the service and the reactions of the owner are to say the least lousy. No sharp price negotiated to guarantee good work. Agreed that it would be finished perfectly for the agreed price. Large parts of the woodwork were not painted, sometimes skipped halfway up the frame. With masking tape I marked the skipped parts myself. Even after that, parts still not painted!! Never heard of a brush. Outside walls around frames in many places hit with paint. Applied filler on frames breaks out. Probably wrong filler or no longer primed after filling. Water-based paint in bathroom crumbles completely. Repaired (by the owner personally!) but after a few months the same picture again.. he would ask Sigma and schedule repairs; never heard anything more about it. Front door has been painted on the inside a hundred times. Father came himself for this because his own staff could not do it without runners or too late after rolling, which caused stripes in the paintwork. He rinsed his brush and roller in the kitchen sink, after which our kitchen wall was covered in blue splashes. When asked, one of the painters turned out not to be a painter at all. These "painters" had dropped the toilet window, causing the wooden construction to break, and secretly tried to cover this up with filler. The hinge had even broken off due to the fall. Had to go after it myself to get it repaired. No prompting from Verheijen to report this. The owner was not informed, he said. You clearly do not get value for money and you cannot count on service. Does not or hardly responds to messages. Have to follow up a dozen times to get something done. Often responses without any follow-up. Only when there is money to be had do they come forward with nice words and promises. Then you can check it yourself and follow up. 1 glass window ultimately turns out to have a production error; there are finger and suction cup prints between the glass layers which are visible in the morning sun. 12 year warranty on glass stipulated in tender by contractor, however warranty conditions Verheijen exclude glass with rod division in small print, 95% of glasswork is with rod division. Contractor unfortunately bankrupt, so nothing to be gained there. No fairness from Verheijen... is referred to warranty conditions of glass supplier. NB house completely provided with glass by Verheijen with almost only rod division... but here with the warranty certificate received later so actually no warranty at all... I contacted glass supplier myself, but they refer to Verheijen. They did indicate that they wanted to look at the problem again. To do this I had to provide photos via Verheijen. Done and repeatedly asked for update. Either he hadn't had time yet, or he was still waiting for a response... we just threw in the towel.. Glass breakage replaced once by Verheijen via insurance to keep the same glass supplier (full repair offered by Verheijen). First wrong size glass delivered (note: dimensions are in Verheijen's system), then glass was installed and never heard anything again regarding sealing or repairing the paintwork, not even after reminders. Eventually had the repair done by another party. What a worthless club. Never again painting work by Verheijen and never again the owner on the floor. He completely destroys the painting company that has been built up and the good name in no time... completely worthless crook! Advice if you still have work by Verheijen at the moment to only pay the final payment when EVERYTHING has been resolved... and make sure that your guarantee is in writing and checked before that time. There will certainly be imperfections or problems for which you will have to be able to fall back on your guarantee.

Good service from knowledgeable staff. Many tastes differ and combination of wallpaper and painting or floor coating, for example. Deliver good work and good prices.

2017: Despite the neat painting work, very bad experiences with this company. In particular how seriously complaints are handled. Too many hours were charged, and despite contacting Joost Verheijen twice, this was not handled well, the last email was not even responded to. In addition, I made several appointments at a certain time that were always canceled/rescheduled too late.

Large range of quality products and good advice. Large orders or small errands, always pleasant help!
