Texel-Yurts

Yurt itself is a very nice experience. we go back to basics for example: light your own fire to cook. we enjoyed it very much. we stayed in the bridal yurt and it was very close to the camping public toilets and bathrooms. we heard people getting in and out of the toilet the whole night. if you are use to sleeping with ear plugs then you could still survive the noise. Yurt itself is not located in an isolated place, they are located in the middle of the camping site. in the end you are not really in the middle of nature alone but surrounded with camping people. for the price you are paying you are not getting a private bathroom or a toilet so be prepared to walk to the public toilet if you want to use the washroom in the middle of the night. Overall price quality is not that good.

Joyous experience. This is our first time to stay in yurt. It is safer and more comfortable and more convenient than in tent, but still we can hear the sounds outside (wind, rain, birds, children laughing, etc.) and feel the air above the yurt seeing the fire in the stove. I can feel very connected to the nature around the camping site. Chopping wood is our favorite activity. Dutch ovens and other cooking utensils are good and enough for us to make stewed lamb and pasta. Thank you Piet and Ina! Practical information: toilets and showers are very hygienic but if you need more precautions you can bring your alcoholic disinfection gel or something.

We had a lovely time here - staying in the bridal yurt which was very beautifully decorated and cozy. The location is great and the campsite facilities are decent. I especially enjoyed the wood burning stove and the hammock and my husband really got into chopping wood with an axe for the fire! The only thing I would warn others about is that it's not clear when you book just how much you will need to do yourself/ bring yourself and for the price (the same as a high end hotel) I was not expecting to have to clean the place, replace the fire wood, the water and strip the bed ourselves when leaving. And I assumed there would be towels provided and a few basics like tea/ coffee and cooking oil - but sadly not. There was a container labelled coffee but nothing inside. The bridal yurt is in a lovely secluded area surrounded by trees and a grassy mound. It's also close to the campsite toilets which is convenient but each night and morning you have to deal with the noise of lots of people slamming the toilet doors. Generally - we were very happy and we would come back again even though it's a bit pricey.
