Since the beginning Jack guided us through the process and give us solutions for all our requirements. They also keep to all the appointments that we had agreed upon and provided high quality service and materials.

We had a renovation and extension carried out by MoMeij last summer and our experience could not have been better. We had been tipped off by friends who had had an extension done by them. I will explain below why our experience was good. I come from education myself and don't easily give tens, but that is what these men deserve! 1. Big 10 for personal customization. We wanted to thoroughly tackle our house from 1903, which was crooked and moldy. Removed the floor, piled the inside, added the floor, installed the heat pump, installed the bathroom on the top floor. Etc etc Through Jack (one of the two owners of Momeij) we received the number of an architectural draftsman (Sander Writer) who was able to think along with us and who, together with partner Leon, could also help with all permit applications from the municipality. After the first quotation, we discovered a gap in our budget and the quotation. Jack sat down with us and helped close this gap by making smarter choices and highlighting a number of things that we could also do ourselves under their expert supervision. 2. Big 10 for craftsmanship. Ultimately, we opted for the option where we would do the demolition, painting and part of the construction ourselves. I had little DIY experience myself, but I was perfectly helped every step of the way in how to approach things. I almost felt like an intern at the company and I really had a great time with the men on the construction site. Get to work together at 7:00 am, have coffee together, build together. And these guys can build. Sverre (the second owner) and Jordy, Sverre's right-hand man (who also has an educational background), are two great carpenters with a West Frisian working mentality that you can say no to. Sverre has made the entire project his own from day 1, when the construction phase started. It will be his child for whom he feels very responsible. I enjoyed the days where the real carpentry work had to be done and I really got a glimpse into the kitchen. The day the new roof had to be connected to the old roof. Or the day that a 1000kg iron beam had to form the new ridge of the old roof and had to be placed between the two existing walls with a few centimeters of work. Sverre, looking closely, wearing characteristic hearing protection as a headband in the MoMei hoodie, Sverre thinks, Sverre acts and in the end he succeeds. He stands on a construction site like a Michelin chef in a star kitchen. 3. Big 10 for planning When we were sent the planning, everyone told us that this was not possible. Start in May and then be ready before the construction holiday? Unfeasible. “Something always goes wrong in construction.” “Every planning ends in construction.” “There is always a subcontractor who doesn't show up, causing everything to be pushed back a few weeks.” Well, everywhere in construction, planning may be running behind schedule. But not with Jack! Jack is planning king and knows how to organize the planning in such a way that Sverre can work with it on the work floor. Ultimately, Sverre ensures that they are always just one step ahead of schedule so that any setbacks can be dealt with. In addition, every subcontractor I spoke to said: “With Jack, you know that when he says “you can come in that week”, that you can really come in that week and you start in a broom-clean workplace where everything is ready for you! Jack is certainly not satisfied with subcontractors who poorly fulfill their agreements and thus threaten to disrupt his planning. So there is an interaction where the subcontractor knows that an agreement is an agreement and vice versa. 4. Big 10 for the subcontractors. All professionals and, above all, great guests! I had my entire house renovated by Momeij. First they partly demolished the old house, then rebuilt it from the ground up, installed a new roof, fitted the entire house with new window frames and expanded part of it. The process went very smoothly and that gave me a very good feeling. The Momeij men provided good, enthusiastic input both before and during construction. Thanks to their professionalism and practical experience, everything was tackled in the right order and everything went according to plan.
