Yesterday, installation company Smeijer installed a new central heating boiler for us. We are very pleased with the way they worked. Fast, professional and friendly staff. They neatly tidied everything up and took it away, even vacuumed it. Many thanks for the good service!

I have had a subscription with this company for a long time. Normally, a mechanic comes by every year to check my CV and do maintenance. In December 2024 I had my appointment for this year. I received a phone call that the mechanic had gone home sick. It can happen, nothing wrong. At the beginning of January I had my second appointment. The mechanic ran late, so the appointment had to be rescheduled. I made a new appointment with full understanding. Today was my third appointment. Again, no mechanic seen due to the delay. I called the reception to express my dissatisfaction. I heard no understanding at all over the phone. I asked for a new appointment with high priority, but that could not be promised. Am I being rude if I say that this is the last chance before I cancel my subscription here? I am incredibly frustrated, especially about the communication just now.

The technician who came by for a leaking tap said that a repair part would cost 89 euros and recommended a new tap. He still had one in the car. We agreed to this without asking the price (our mistake). The invoice showed that the crane cost no less than 311 euros! "You should have asked about the price," is the response from the Smeijer company and the technician. The technician says he does not know the price of the tap (unlike the part that should cost 89 euros). Now we feel cheated and that's a shame. So if you are already doing business with the Smeijer company, always ask about the costs to avoid unpleasant surprises. Your response is brilliant, Smeijer company. The mechanic who advises to install a new tap ('I still have a tap in the car') instead of a new part costing 89 euros, and then installs a Ghohe Grohtherm 1000 thermostatic shower mixer tap for 311 euros (excl. labor costs), which turns out to be for sale elsewhere for half that... well, that's a brilliant revenue model. I'll give you that.

Last year I took out a maintenance contract with Smeijer for my CV boiler. I recently had a problem with my hot water at home, so I called Smeijer to have a look. After two days, the technician finally came by, spent fifteen minutes inside and concluded that the boiler was not the problem. Now I have been presented with a bill of over €50 for this visit. This despite the fact that, due to the maintenance contract, I would not have to pay an hourly rate or call-out charges in the event of a fault. I have had telephone contact with Ilse from Smeijer, but she points me to the general terms and conditions, which state that if the fault is not caused by the CV, the costs will simply be charged. This despite the fact that this was not yet clear at the time I called with the fault. This is not up for discussion, contract or no contract. All in all, a particularly unfriendly attitude to customers, especially when you consider that I had the boiler repaired by Smeijer for hundreds of euros before concluding the contract in order to be able to conclude the contract.
