I don't normally write negative reviews, but in this case I feel compelled to do so. Contact is completely avoided, while I have tried to start a conversation several times. Let me state that in the past there have certainly been moments when contact with Houwen was pleasant and smooth. But in this specific situation I feel completely ignored and not taken seriously. Without any consultation, Houwen sent a technician to my meter cupboard, who happened to be working in the same apartment complex. I was only informed of this fact afterwards, while travel expenses were charged on the invoice. The technician then only stated that the central heating boiler was working - something that I had already repeatedly indicated. I never reported that the boiler was defective; the problem is in the thermostat, as I clearly communicated from the start. Despite this, the invoice includes an hour and a half of work, while the technician did not actually solve or investigate anything that had to do with my report. To make matters worse, high service charges are being charged, under the guise that I did not show up for an appointment – an appointment that I was never informed of. Furthermore, the invoice contains derogatory texts, suggesting that I did not want to make an effort to take time off for an appointment. This wrongly gives the impression that I was negligent, probably to make their side of the story seem more credible. I find this extremely reprehensible. When I explained this situation to my landlord and indicated that Houwen was charging costs unfairly and deliberately recording incorrect information, there was no further communication at all. Since then, I have tried to contact them by phone several times and sent several emails, but they have never responded. When I finally manage to get someone on the line, they always promise that I will be called back – which never happens. Houwen does not send any emails themselves, but continues to send payment reminders. Considering the internal miscommunication, the unjustified and misleading billing, and the way customers are talked about in official documents, it would behoove Houwen to drop this invoice. Again, I'm not someone who quickly complains via a review, but at this point I feel like I have no other choice to be heard.

In 2019, someone from this company came home to view our meter cupboard, and we would receive a quote for a new meter cupboard. To date no quote has been received and emails have not been responded to. We did not expect this from this company.

I am also very satisfied with this company. Yesterday I had a problem with my boiler and I was helped very quickly. I definitely recommend this company!
